Overview

Crookston is a friendly, safe and progressive community on the banks of the meandering Red Lake River in northwest Minnesota. Residents live by the slogan, “Keep Business in Crookston, Keep Crookston in Business” knowing that the local merchant is a friend and business associate.

Although Crookston has historically been an agricultural based community, industry has become an important part of the economic base. Crookston is home of the University of Minnesota, Crookston, which was the first lap-top university.
